Birth of the Baptist

The birth of a child is a joyful event.  In the case of John the Baptist, it was an especially happy event - his parents were surprisingly old, the baby was a boy, his name was considered unusual and his father miraculously overcame an impediment!  It all seemed to add up to a special child.  Just who is this child?  Understandably, people wondered what his future held!
