Jesus once warned his disciples about the kind of tunnel vision that causes people to magnify the sins of others while minimizing their own. While preparing the next generation to enter the Promised Land, Moses warned them about the sin of spiritual pride, ie., mistaking privileges as due to extraordinary piety. Actually, there were other less flattering reasons for these privileges. Once understood, the next generation should've been humbled and put in their place. We should too!
